Newton Aycliffe Tourism

Tourist Guide
Newton Aycliffe - ' feel the difference!'
(County Durham)

The days are gone when you had to travel to Darlington to go shopping. With banana’s at just 18p a bunch Tesco has been a turning point for the towns economy. Tesco carpark currently occupies around 25% of the town centre.

Newton Aycliffe offers a range of first rate council houses should you enjoy your stay so much you decide to move here.

Reassurance. We know we are safe in this town as every Thursday morning we here a siren to reassure us that if Hydro Polymers exploded that is the noise we would here.

Places to eat out
Greedy Goblin Café - (Located on St. Cuthbeths way in the industial estate).
Greedy Aunties’ Kitchen - (Mobile food wagon normally located around the Whinbank Road area of the industrial estate)
Alpachino’s - Located in the commercial centre of the town. This kabab house serves wafer thin pieces of reconstituted lamb served on a naan.

Places to drink out
Blakes - ‘A real getaway.’ Let your hair down every night of the week now in Aycliffe’s very own town centre pub. No need to go o Darlington anymore!
The cobblers Hall - A great place to go out unless you are gay or Polish - (Then we would recommemed you get out of this town as fast as possible for your own safety). This place is a brand new drinking hub and it is one of the cheapest bar in Aycliffe at just £2.50 for a pint for fosters.

Historic Buildings/ Places of Interest.
There are many walks in Newton Aycliffe and the town has footpaths, benches and even the odd sculpture. If you would rather get the bus there is a reasonable bus service linking communities in all parts of the town. If you plan travelling further a field you are advised to contact Smithys taxis.
Jobs
At the moment there are not many but things can always change. Last week for example there was a job as a welder earning £5.25 per hour and needing 4 years of welding experience and NVQ4.
Just pop into Newton Aycliffe job centre located next to Tesco in the town centre and ask to sign on.
Re. We are sorry but we have been unable to complete this website as the tourist operator for the town does not work here any more. If you feel you have what it takes to advertise Newton Aycliffe please phone Newton Aycliffe town Council. Re are currently recruiting for a new postion.
